Sunday

one sick bandit

its late and im sick. not sure what it is. started in my throat on wednesday.  more than likely been carrying it for a while, through the birth or got it there and maybe my body being worn down, tired.  bam. probably got me at that damn bethesda hospital when the blood happy nurse
stressed us all out.  no fever, no aches. just clearness. chesty runny business.

skeeter and tosh are crashed.  they had a big day of feeding and sleeping.  we watched some ball, had some soup. saw the nahbs.  other things.  smiled. laughed.  the usual.  i tried to stay on quarantine. hard to do. remembering to wash those hands and dress like a bandit.  if it gets worse tomorrow, i stay horizontal.  bummer. sorry tosh.  sorry honey. only day together alone and i pull this shit.

saturday night live is stupid.

just waiting for my chest to relax a bit.

let the hacking subside.

ok. this dance skit is pretty funny.

Friday

a week at home

here we are at the end of a our first week in the house with tosh. tanil's father was down for the entire week, lending many a hand at the sink over dirty dishes and chopping salad mix. so many people have brought us food that our freezer is full, and we are still eating off the goods in the fridge. thank you all so much. we are very thankful for you all.

we all have done very well at adapting to one another and this life we have now. tosh, of course eats, sleeps, lounges, shits, and pees, and just is so damn cute. tanil is an amazing woman, and has taken to breast feeding like the champ she is. i love to watch her looking into tosh's eyes. they look like they are in a trance. total bonding. tosh building his trust in her. amazing to behold. too bad for me, i had to get back into the office on wednesday, as expected. bills must be paid and maybe the mortgage.

skeeter, her dad, and tosh came out to the kickball game last night to watch the state champs lose there first round playoff game 2-1. i dont think tosh saw a peep of his daddy pitching. that's ok, there's time. and then again today, they all came up to my office for lunch. we introduced the little man around and he didnt even blush at all the attention.

higlights of the week:
takin naps with tosh
watching skeeter
mesmerizing over tosh
lookin into his eyes
eating all the yummy food
realxing
sleeping hard

lowlights:
going back to the hospital for a jaundice and high bilirubin scare
having an ER nurse who knew nothing about pediatrics do a blood letting on my son.
having to lay him in a light tray at the house, though that wasnt all that bad, as long as he was soundly sleeping he transitioned well.

i've updated and added some more photos to the album.

Thursday

Go Easy

Tosh time is so near you can smell it in the air.

We are just hangin out and waitin for it all to go down.

I brewed a beer for him and the holidays on this past Sunday.

A holiday nose nipper spiced ale.

Should be good.

Hope he likes it.

Haha

His room is ready as all get out.

Closet is complete.

New shades up on the windows.

Furinture in.

Everyone's gifts from the past few months.

Filled up the the closet and drawers.

I still havent found anywhere for my clothes.

It dont matter.

The small car got put in the shop.

It needed everything except new seats.

Whoa!

Here's to hoping it gets us 2 more years of safe drivin'.

So for the next rwo days were down to one car.

Not a big deal.

Never is.

Never will be.

I wonder if Tosh will have hair?

What color?

If its black, then Sir Bunco needs to be found and hung.

I'm thinkin he will be about 8pds 3oz.

Skeeter wishes a bit smaller.

he can't have that much room in there right now.

I can't wait to see his fingers and toes

To kiss him.

Ahhhhhhh

Oh, we are painting animals for his walls.

One day he might learn them.

Give them names, like 'blue turtle.'

Well, I have a kickball game to get to.

I'll let y'all go.

Cheers!

Wednesday

Fire

Last night we had an impromptu fire in that backyard.

Wound up to be in honour of Tosh.

Come on man, we wanna see yo face.

Saturday

Party Pics. Finally.

Back on October 4th, as whole grip of our friends threw us a party over at the neighbours house.
It was a wonderful time. Tons of people, a whole mess of fixin's. Pulled pork, turnip greens, mac and cheese, squash casserole, drinks, an awesome cake, and jello shots? What?

Here are two links to photos from the day.

Enjoy.

Just a Normal Day at the Office?

Skeeter had a party at work
for her and T. And
For some reason
funny hats
were worn.
Maybe it's not a hat.

A view of T's future abode.
I think he'll like it.
Thanks everyone.
For Everything.
Or he coulda be sleepin'
in a cardboard box
with #4 and lil' Girl.

Who am I kiddin
4 and girl have a full
all to themselves.
Good Night All.

Long Weekend = Tired Today

Skeeter and I busted some ass this weekend.

Yes, she has energy, tons of it. Besides that enormous ball of a belly and feet the size of Puerto Rico(just kiddin' sweetie), you would never know she's pregnant.

We pulled about 16 hours of work on Saturday, and another 9+ Sunday gettin the finishin touches together on the closet. After a jack load of planning on my part, it all worked. I did screw some things up, so i have a short punch list of items to resolve.

Skeeter got tons of lil T's clothes washed and sorted.
Oh, he got the hiccups a few times this weekend.
That was fun stuff to feel for sure.

We had a another appt. of friday and then an appt. to meet with our doula. Not to mention a big date out at Whole Foods. Oh, yeah, we go out for dinner at the grocery store. Tops!

If your unsure of what a doula is, go here. Her name is Lorie and she taught our hypnobirthin' class. Things feel pretty good there.

Regarding the Costa Rican burger I had last night.

Good God.

3/4 pd. Burger with ham, fried egg, cheese, tomato, lettuce and thousand island dressin'.
Whoever came up with this one deserves a really groovy sayin on there tombstone when the pass, somethin' like, "My Burger kicked yer ass!" or "Wait for it....It's Comin."

Whew. Put a hurtin' on me, i tell ya.

I'm sure there's more i could type, but i need to get back to work and ear deep in a good show this mornin'.

Startin to feel like fall down here a bit. Mmmmmmm

Love to all.

Week Four Kickball Review

STATE
Great on the D,
Poor on the O.
We're pretty sure this all stemmed from an angry Suz,
Earlier accused of travelin' to Chicago in search of her baby's daddy.
Whoever writes this drek clearly needs to lay off of the drugs or perhaps get on them.
Suz knows who the baby's daddy is.
No one.
Immaculate Conception?
Thanks but no thanks, el predictione.

Jordon had some pretty slick moves on the field last night.
Doubled up at third the hard way.
McBryan too, also knocking anybody who got in his way.
Unassisted triple play, too bad there was one out, and it gets filed as a double play.
Our new pitcher Matty B, worked out the kinks quick fast, and threw solid the whole game.
Now only throwin' relief, Hollis kept right field warm with tales of woe.
Props to everyone that got on base in this lightnin' fast game.

We're not too sure about this tie thing we got goin on'.
Suppose it's due to playin' such formidable opponents, puttin up the good fight.
BTHT is definitely a good one.
Extra innings woulda been worthy.
Hell, we had 20+ mins left.
Out!

Cheers!

BX Beer Depot

In case you didn't know, South Florida has a great home brew shop down in Lake Worth. The BX Beer Depot is the only place you can get the things you need without paying shipping and handling. Plus, they have a cooler full of choice beers, I mean choice. Its locally owned, so when your buying from them, your helping the community and not a corporate stooge from Total Wine or Crown Liqueurs. Those places have there purpose, but your beer needs should funnel through BX. Just remember they are in Lake Worth and stop by the next time your zooming through mid county. I can't say too much about the staff, or the patrons that visit the place. Just kiddin' y'all. Skills. Top notch folks. BX not only stocks brew, but stocks good peeps, whether working or hangin' around tastin' brews, you'll be pleased with the information you receive and possibly entertained by the stories you here. For more info, slide over to my links and check out their blog. There you can get to the website and/or directions and digits.

Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Kickball Week 1

The State Champs managed a 11-2 over the Wildebeests, a formidable opponent who brought the funny and will be much appreciated in this league. Thanks for the rum shot in the 4th inning stretch Beests. Y'all should roll Ladies Night every inning. 3 up - 3 down. The Champs newest additions brought the thunder throughout the game, helping us to figure out that big feet, big'uns, and a lack of compassion for most all things in life tends to do a kickball team very well. All the rooks scored a run, some two, save the golden glove winner of the night, Tock. Expletives and bright field lights made this guy a front runner for the all star team at second base. C'mon, the guy didn't even break a sweat. Good Work. Keep it up, Mr Magic. After the game I headed back to the compound to tend to the pregnant Champs, and a countless few put the press on at the bar, eking there way into the second round of flip cup. Flip Cup.....whatever. Get on the field and kick some balls! Onward!

Lost a Nannie on our Anny

So we got some disappointing news yesterday
On our anniversary, which otherwise was a nice peaceful day.
News we were not ready to hear
A friend of ours, whom was steppin up
to nanny for Tosh in the coming months
isn't gonna be able to help out.
She home schools and has two kids.
I can imagine that her load is quite large.
So the word is gettin put out on the street
we're searchin for some newness. freshness.

so we lost a nanny on our anny.

hello nanny nanny

meanwhile skeeter keeps pooling it. tosh enjoys the swims.

Friday

Ike

sooner or later living in a hurricane zone gets a bit squirrelly. preparation and planning are the two best things you can do to take the storm with any amount ease, if ease is even something you can associate with a category 4 storm. its been 5 days since the last post, and a few things have gone on around these parts. skeeter switched doctors to someone more hip to the way we wish to birth. and she loves the lady, whose name is rachel. also some friends of ours had there child the other day.
all seems well on that front too.

so planning out what we need and dont have in order to have a pleasant hurricane:

beer
ice
propane
gas

we have plenty of food already and enough plywood to partially cover all the wondows.
i may have to make a run if this Ike guy gets any closer, but hopes are we can just chill inside and let that sucka just slip right passed us. keep all our power and just chug along thru the fall.

other thing of note is auburn football. please win this weekend.
i got a bad feeling about the southern miss team.

gonna try ot post some music this weekend, so be on the lookout for something fresh.

Blog in one spot.

so i spent about an hour yesterday compiling 3 years of blogs into on spot. none of these said, blogs, have ever amount to more than 5-10 post, so this wasn't a huge undertaking. everything has a label of august 19, even though there are post on here from 2005. the latest posts in the string are from the blamblam tumblr bloget. i just didnt like that smaller format idea, so now its here also.

i'm tired this mornin', need an espresso to wash down the heartburn i had while trying to sleep last night.

have a good day all.

Tuesday

Headed Out

It's time to get on the road.
9AM.
on the road with a short stop by Lombard St. for Tanil.
Across the Golden Gate
Up the 101 in and through wine country with a stop of Seghasio Winery.
Nothing like a wine tasting at 10am on Monday Mornin.

Back in the car and veering west at he 128 through Mendo and towards Booneville and the Coast.
Thought about stopping here a Schramsberg Winery but probably would not have been able to do remainder of the drive that day.

Philo went by in a blink.

Ft. Bragg for lunch at the North Coast Brewery but the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday. What kinda backwards town doesn't have there ale house open everyday. Just Kidding. Seriously Though.

Tried to stop again up the street for lunch, BANG. Closed at 2:30, and its 2:30 on the dot.

So we needed food, and started to need a restroom before heading back into the 101 at Leggit.

Grabbed a pretty good burrito and some drinks at the a small market, but no bathroom for customers, and there didn't seem to be a bathroom anywear. Was thinkin about goin out in the open, but just didn't feel good about with people around and about, though not a lot of them. Well, I started to lose my cool, freaking out about why in the hell there are no bathrooms around, proceeding to drive us furthur up the road and onto 101 till we found one. Soon enough things worked out, I woofed down my burrito and we both got a needed bathroom break. Its a good thing when your traveling companion can laugh off any bit of seriousness that an impending meltdown may carry. Thanks God for that.

So with a bit of waning anxiety we make it into the Redwoods and towards our destination in Honeydew, CA. Off the 101 and up through these massive redwoods and down lane and half wide roads into the Mattole River Basin and Honeydew. It was like falling into a world i never knew existed. A friend had compared it the Shire, and its exactly what I would have thouhgt the Shire may llok like. Rolling hills, pastures, a wonderful river with a flood plain that prehistoric. Our little cabin at the Mattole River Organic Farm was small, a wee bit smaller than our first apartment. Rustic. Way Rustic. We settle in with some grub we picked up down the road. Had some organic beers and Tanil a bit of leftover wine from the city and we were spent.

Night Night.
